People Operations Associate
Job Scope

In this role, you will be at the heart of our people function. You will lead key areas such as hiring, onboarding, employee engagement, benefits administration, performance reviews, welfare programs, employee advocacy, and offboarding. If you enjoy connecting the dots between people, process, and culture, this role is a great fit.
The role is based in Lagos, Nigeria and is 90 percent remote. You will only need to be in the office occasionally, around 10 percent of the time, to support team bonding activities and help manage our physical workspace. While being close to Lekki or VI is preferred, it is not a requirement.
What you will be doing:
Taking ownership of key recruitment operations including sourcing, scheduling, emailing, reporting and sending candidate feedback in a way that ensures great candidate experience according to Bamboo’s standards
Facilitating and providing a consistent and awesome new hire experience globally. Coordinate people & culture orientation and coordinate all other onboarding sessions.
Ensuring all new hires have a great onboarding experience during and after their probation period.
Implementation and coordination of employee benefits and perks including health insurance, birthday cakes, health and wellness, learning and development, etc.
Modernizing and constantly looking for ways to automate important people operations processes including reminders, updates, and recurring events.
Tracking and analyzing key people metrics including time to hire, employee satisfaction score, absences, turnover, net promoter score amongst other key metrics.
Providing support to employees on a regular basis by responding promptly to employee queries and providing advisory on people related issues.
Coordinating performance management processes including goal setting and performance reviews.
Assist people and culture leadership in organizing the company's internal events and social calendar (off-sites, monthly team bonding events, team fun events, fireside, lunch and learns, holiday party, etc.)
Coordinating the execution of the Bamboo moments (Celebration of noteworthy events and staff anniversaries)
Measuring employee experience at these events and ensuring engagement and satisfaction
Keeping the team informed about important company-wide updates such as events, birthdays, anniversaries, notices, policy changes, etc. through appropriate channels.
Maintaining and updating accurate data in HR documents, systems, and employee files for all employee lifecycle changes and updates (hire, promotion, performance, compensation, and termination)
Partner with our Head of People + Culture identifying, developing, and implementing key HR initiatives that will enhance the success of our business including but not limited to engagement surveys, performance reviews, training + development, and designing career plans.
Leading facilities maintenance and cleanliness of the Bamboo Lagos office, including vendor and contract management.
Overseeing maintenance of any equipment and security systems in the Bamboo Lagos Office.
Who You Are
You have 2-4 years of core HR experience, with experience across the employee lifecycle including L&D, employee relations, recruitment, performance management, employee benefits & compensation etc.
You are able to own and manage 1-2 core HR projects with minimal supervision.
You understand industry people's best practices and can implement what good people practice looks like within the context of Bamboo.
You have a good understanding of employee engagement, how it impacts the way people feel at Bamboo and how to measure this.
You have both excellent written and verbal communication skills and are able to communicate effectively with anyone across the company.
You have experience using modern HRIS & Recruitment tools (bonus points if you’ve worked with HiBOB & Teamtailor)
Moderate to excellent proficiency in the use of Canva and other basic design tools.
You’re great at using Excel, Powerpoint, Word and calendar management tools.
You’re tech savvy and not afraid to implement technology to improve the quality and efficiency of your work.
You are happy with working in a fast paced environment, doing everything possible to meet deadlines.
You’ve got positive energy. You’re optimistic about the future and determined to get there.
You appreciate direct communication. You’re both an active communicator and an eager listener
